Dr. Mo’men Abu Ghazaleh from the Department of Computer Science in Industry, Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence, presented a paper titled “LiteReviewer: A Practical, Energy-Aware Code Review System Using Local Language Models” at the Euromicro Conference on Software Engineering and Advanced Applications (SEAA 2026), held in Kraków, Poland, from September 2–4, 2026.
The paper presents an AI-assisted code review framework, integrated with GitHub, based on Small Language Models (SLMs) that can be run locally. The research focuses on achieving a balance between code review quality, energy efficiency, and practical applicability.
The paper was conducted in collaboration with Professor Henry Muccini and Mete Harun Akcay from the University of L’Aquila, Italy.
